The medieval village of Chinchon situated 40 minutes from the Spanish capital is a fantastic day experience which allows the visitor to marvel at its ancient walls and soak up its unique atmosphere, much of which has remained unchanged for centuries. Chinchon is famous for its many restaurants founded over a century ago with some unique views overlooking the Plaza Mayor where you can saviour the atmosphere of a bustling market town whose many historical monuments are reflected in the some of Spain´s more bloodier episodes including the proclamation of Philip V in 1706 as the rightful King of Spain against the claim of Archduke Charles of the Holy Roman Empire during the War of Succession and the sacking of the town by the French during the War of Independence. The tour is complete with English speaking guide and visit to the 12th century castle and Church and with the option of a lunch in one of the town´s many fine restaurants that are situated in the Plaza Mayor. This package includes the guided tour of Chinchon and return transfers to your hotel.
